Bedding question

burner Oct 04, 2005 12:22 PM

I was told that if you use newspaper for bedding, you shouldnt use the color pages. Any reply would be appreciated..

Yes, I have heard that too. Nowadays it's hard to find pages w/o color print somewhere. Hope someone who really knows real facts chimes in. I try to minimize it just in case but I'm not sure I could completely eliminate it altogether. So far no problems from it that I am aware of. Good luck.

I have heard the same thing as well concerning the colored newspaper but honestly, I don't think it may hold true. BUT...I still don't use it for the most part cause the snakes that like to bury underneath it have gotten their noses stained with the ink before. It looks kinda funny though. LOL! When they shed, it comes off though.

I have used newspaper for years and have never seen any effects. I use the most black and white paper to my ability of finding it but I do have some color sections, very little at that, on some of the newspaper, cause it is hard to get away from it all.

I have heard of newspaper that you can buy direct from a newspaper factory that is just plain and does not contain print at all. Thing is, when I checked into it once directly with a person at a factory, I had to buy a huge amount at that time for them to even want to consider selling to me the unprinted paper.

So...a few Sunday editions at the special price of two for $2.00 has been keeping me good for a long time.

What kind of Pit is that BILLY?

BILLY Oct 04, 2005 10:04 PM

It is an albino bullsnake, most likely a TX one. I picked her up in Daytona this year.

Take care!

It is indeed a good looker! I just picked up a neonate albino San Diego Bull in Tucson 3 weeks ago with those same lavender dots by the tail (though quite a bit more yellow & pastel orange) - & I really hope he grows up to be as pretty as this example!
