New Pics of my girl CWD

hunterjackson Oct 04, 2005 10:48 PM

Here are some pics of my female CWD running around the bedroom. Her new cage will be done soon! I can't wait. her nose is healing nicely with the help of silvadine. Soon it will be fully healed, god willing.

She is a BIGGGGG girl. I wonder how she would take to a male mate down the road....

I'm not sure how to tell you this, but you already have a male. I wondered when you posted about building a home for a 40" female but your picture confirms the sex without question. He's a very nice specimen BTW.

Well thanks for informing me, i was wondering about the pink under HIS chin. I'd rather the vet be wrong about the sex of a water dragon than the more important things that he is best at ie: sick water dragons etc.

thanks

Actually my oldest FEMALE does have salmon/pink under her chin.
But the nuchal crest spikes, jowl size and subsequent head triangulation, and the sagittal and mid-sagittal spike formation verifies without question that you have a BIG BOY. he is absolutely beautiful. He puts my 30 inch male to shame. Avanyu is ging to have to pump some iron to look like your guy.
As long as your vet can get the diagnosis and treatment dosages correct he still qualifies as a vet-LOL

I concur, most definitely a male.

He really is....
went in for the check up...all is well, just the nose damage from the past which is healing, and HE bloodied it up on the way even though he was in a rubber maid, lined with a quilt. Gosh, just leave it to a water dragon

The vet gave me baytril to give him each day for 5 days (.6 cc) by mouth, he's really good about taking med's orally, and then also a panacur/ flagyll suspension which i delievered by mouse.

He weighed in, i believe, at 588 grams. He is a big boy. He stretches out a good 42 inches at least. I wonder why he is so much bigger than all the others....is that good or bad?

dianedfisher Oct 10, 2005 12:43 PM

42 inches is above average for a CWD. My 2 1/2 yr. old was just over 30 inches at last measure (Aug.) and weighed 650 grams. Per Rick's recommendation, I put him on a diet and he appears to have slimmed down a little. I really need to weigh and measure them all again. I'll have to get out my kevlar battle gear and weigh them all soon.

This dragon has really long spikes in comparison to my male. Why is it that some dragons have very short green spikes and some have very very long thin brittle looking ones?
