i jsut wanna cover all my bases sence ive spent a good amount of money building a cage and proper heating (ect...) for my iguana. how much are they supposta eat? i fill a small dish (the size that matches a coffe cup) with all the proper foods such as green beans, collard and dandalion greens, winter squashes, and parsnips all shreaded also with vitamans and calcium mixed in. he eats alot when the food is brought to his attention or catches his smell but he never looks for it so he usualy only eats from 1/2 to 3/4 of the plate. also he refuses to go under his eat light, insted remains in the base of a tall plant we got in there out of the range of heat and always finds his way there at night and feels cold in the morning. like the food when i bring the rest of his cage to his attention he is very happy for the heat but always wanders back. finally hes become more and more lathargic sence weve gotten him...if i let him he would not eat and sit in the cold base of the plant all day long i bet....is this normal behavior or should i be concerend? if so waht steps should i take

How old is he? How big? Did you just put him in his new cage? If so he's probably taking time to get used to it and once he settles in he'll eat normally. At least he's eating. Mine pick at their food all through the day except for my big male who scarfs down his the minute it's offered. (he's such a piggie!)I give him an 8x8 pyrex pan heaping with his dinner once a day, sometimes more depending on whether he finishes all of it or not.
