WaterFall Help

BrainTek Jul 20, 2003 01:56 PM

Hi all. I need a bit of help w/my exoterra waterfall. I use Bed-A-Beast for the ground cover in my Dumpies tank. I love the stuff, it allows me to plant vines and cover for the frogs. However, when the dumpies go for a soak they rinse off the bed-a-beast into the waterfall...which in turn clogs the pump. I have tried to attach a filter to the pump...but that clogs up just as bad. I have tried putting cheese cloth over the basin to stop the Bed-a-Beast from gettin in, but instead the water pools on the cloth and overflows. I'm trying to look for a solution instead of getting rid of the bed-a-beast or the waterfall.

Cover the bed-a-beast with sheet moss so that your frog won't get dirty. You can either buy bags of dried spagnum moss or collect moss from outdoors. If you're collecting moss from outdoors be sure to let it soak in warm water to get rid of bugs and other debris.
