Crocodile teeth

goini04 Oct 05, 2005 07:31 PM

Hey all,

I am just wondering if anyone knows where I can obtain naturally lost crocodile teeth? I am wanting to make a few necklace-like items that will require some croc teeth.

Thanks and I would appreciate any help.

Be careful. There is a well-known Osteological specimen dealer who got into trouble with the Feds for shipping Crocodile skulls a few years back. The ESA applies to animal parts just like it does to livestock.

Are you saying that it is technically illegal to sell croc teeth?

What Bryan is saying is that the law treats live animals and the parts of those animals the same. If an animal has endangered status and needs ESA permits, then so do the parts that come from the same species. That's one reason they tell travelers not to purchase trickets made from animal parts while overseas - they may be confiscated by customs and then not only are you out the money, but you could be prosecuted.

That being said, if you do a search on Ebay for "alligator teeth" I'm sure you will find them.

Oh ok. I will definitely do the ebay search and see what it comes up with, thanks for the info Bill and Bryan.
