Help With Takeing Pictures (Pics)

kimusubi Oct 06, 2005 01:27 PM

I'm not very good taking pictures of my boas. I have a Canon PowerShot A40 digital camera with 2.0 mega pixels that I use to take pictures. I've been working on improving my skills, but they're still not that amazing. I have a boa who is extremely beautiful, but it's VERY hard to capture her true look on camera. She is orangish colombian boa. Is very light and clear, and has a pink face, but when I take a picture, it looks like any average boa. I tried going outside and taking them, and that helped a little, but not that much. Does anyone have any ideas on what else to do to help me improve the pictures. Here are some examples of what I took today.

im not an amazing picture taker, but i would say your best bet is to first make sure you are in focus, if your camera has auto focus then that would be best. second for the color, i find outside not in direct sunlight is best, and even better is to have the sun shining over your shoulder when you take the pictures. you may also try some pictures in the shade. good luck and pretyt much just keep practicing with your camera and youll get better.

I get some of my best pics, near my house (which is off white) using the sides of the house to reflect light back towards the subject. Also, for albino's and other light colored snakes, my best pics were when there was a light cloud cover. Too much light washes out the colors.
