Argentine Black and White Tegu Breeding??

Tugi Oct 06, 2005 05:10 PM

As I posted earlier, I now have a *i think* male and female argentine bw tegus. Is there any way to tell 100% their gender based on appearances?

Also, I am thinking about breeding them. However, I have *never* bred reptiles before so i'm not sure how to go about it. Can someone suggest good links to read up on? Does anyone here breed tegus? Thanks!

Sexing? You can find someone who knows how to probe and what specifies a male or a female.

As far as breeding, you'd need to allow them to hibernate.
From what I gather, this is due to the fact that both the eggs and the sperm need to mature before use and Hibernation allows them to do so.

As far as the actual breeding.. good luck on that, I have yet to really delve into it.
