Wanting to get some monitors

carpetfreak Oct 06, 2005 06:50 PM

I've been wanting some monitors for many years. I now have the room and would like to get a pair or trio of one of the dwarf species. Right now, I'm looking at Ackies or Feckled Monitors. What size trough would I need for a pair or trio of these guys? Are there any other species that I should consider?

Thanks!

Eric

Awesome! I love ackies. Lot of fun. But If I had to choose between the two, I would go with freckleds. They look really good and not as many people have them in there collections. Rare earth has some true CBB freckled monitors and ackies. Its up to your own descretion.

Oh ya and also, for a trio of ackies or freckleds full grown, Id say at least a 6x4x4 cage. That sounds good. You dont want to think minimum when housing monitors. The bigger is better.

No way! Thats awesome. If you have ANY questions, please ask. Me and many others would love to help you. And also, you have to post pics A.S.A.P. casue I LOVE freckleds! LOL also, where did ya get them from to? And for how much If you dont mind me asking?

I got them from rare earth. They're not going to hatch until the end of November so I still have a good while. But that's quite alright because I still have to set up an enclosure, which i'm very excited about doing. I'm going to pay 300 for each one. I haven't bought them yet, but they are reserved. I'm SOO excited about these guys. I'm still in highschool so dropping that kind of money is a pretty big deal. The enjoyment that I'll get from them far outweighs the price. I'll definitely ask you guys if I need any help!

How are they as far as handling goes? And are they pretty flighty when you approach the cage or more curious?

Thanks!

Eric

Thats awesome. Its good to hear your getting some. I just graduated high school and I just dropped almost a grand to start my albig breeding project, but it was money well spent. Im glad Im finally doing wut I want to do. But as far as being flighty, I havent really heard to much about them as far as there temperment goes. But Im sure you'll have PLENTY of fun with them. They look really nice and plus, you can NEVER go wrong with purchasing true CBB monitors. Well good luck and please feel free to ask any questions.
