i have a mali(cuba) that i got about six months ago that only comes out of her hide from about 9 am till about 3:30pm. i thought that was normal unitl i just got aanother mali(rico) and he is out of his hide from the min i turn the lamps on 7 am till 9 pm..any ideas on why cuba only comes out a few hours a day?

in my opinion it might have to do with the age that you get them. both of mine were wild caught but helga was much larger so i assuming much older than hugo. she is the same as cuba, she wakes up late, goes to bed early and can be really sassy and is very flighty. she was caught as an adult. hugo was a juvie (so he was not in the wild as long), he is up early and stays up late, does not run and hide like helga does. i always say i think helga has flashbacks of being in the wild, lol, or it could just boil down to personality. i have other lizards and one wakes up before the lights come on, others with the lights and another like 3 hours after the lights come on

Wuld'nt get to worried, I have seven mali's and none of them get up or go to bed at the same time. My dogs are the same way.
