Has anybody ever been to...

the Dixie Reptile show in Birmingham, Al. I have never been but I am thinking of going in the next couple of months. I was just curious as to what type of animals they normally have there and also what breeders normally go there.

I stopped going YEARS ago. I don't know what it is like now, but I stopped going because the number of WC animals was TOO DANG high. Some shows were 80 % WC animals. Lots were illegal, too (like one guy KEPT bringing Georgia snakes for sale!). MANY were diseased, etc. - OBVIOUS health issues. I didn't want to take anything home from that show and bring it into my colony!

Hopefully it is better now. There were occasionally some GOOD breeders there, though!

I still have some herps that I got at one of the first one I ever went to!

The show has moved since Kjun used to go.
There are still a few wild caught specimens (like every show) and some animals that don't look like they are cared for properly but there are some good vendors there also and It's not that bad.
It has gotten better since it has moved to it's current location.
Having said that though I must state that it is not a very large show and doesn't have the greatest sellection.
If you get lucky Bayou Reptiles will be there. They have beautiful corns and a good selection.

I got these two from Bayou.
