Scammers!?!?!?

chameleon2005 Oct 07, 2005 04:35 AM

Hello,

I have been contacted through an advert I placed on Classified listings from an Exporter in Nigeria. I Know, I Know!!!

I originally dismissed the email as an obvious scammer BUT the guy is acutally telling me that he`ll send me the animals first without me paying anything in advance.

My question is, IF i decided to order from them, is there any other way that I could be scammed from them? Am i missing the obvious here?

he will probably ask you for all your information. name, address, etc. scammers will try to get this info to use for identity theft. he contacted you. never send your info to anyone who contacts you first unless you are 100% certain who it is. ask yourself. would you send someone you don't know a bunch of snakes and trust them to send you the money? i wouldn't. don't do it. get your animals from people you trust.good luck. Come on now! Just like Rin said. Put yourself in the other guys' shoes. You would never just contact someone you have never met and say hey I got some snakes I will send you and I fully trust you will pay me when you get them? Not going to happen. And if it would happen you gotta question the health of the animals he is sending over? Anyway, if it sounds to good to be true it IS!

Be safe,
Jason

I don't think that's a "Nigerian" common name LOL

sounds more like an "Asian" scammer.

I work at an escrow company, and someone is using our company name, address etc... they set up a website and everything, now they sell motorcycles on ebay but find some fools to talk into going around ebay and just wiring the money directly to "us". then not too long after they call us wanting to know where the bike is only to find out they have been scammed. so you could in turn end up being the cover name at some point if they get your info.

was traveling in Nigeria, or so he said, as that's where he wanted the money order sent. Perhaps he had a name change to hide his Nigerianess.
