Because of Hurricane Katrina, i have moved to dallas. I been searchin for cheap rat here, but the sellin price are $8.99each? Is that normal here?
And also, i need to find out about the law of keepin herp in dallas. Do they allow you to keep boa and python at all. Anyone can help, i am really appricated.

Don't live in Dallas and not too sure where you came from, but if you buy a large rat live from a pet store just about anywhere, you will be charged between $7.99 and as much as $11.99.
Most people here have several snakes and purchase their rodents frozen from several different companies that offer them.
You can check on the Cages/Supplies/Feeders section and you should see many offers.
Some of the well known names are Rodent Pro, Mice on Ice, Gourmet Rodent, and there are many more I can't think of at the moment.

What your buying is "pet" rats @ that price.
Get a local phone book and look up "feed-stores",not sure on Dallas,but FTW has several scattered all over Tarrent County.
Large live feeders here are $2.98

Big cheese rodent factory is located in the DFW area, if you are only feeding one snake a petstore might be the best option. No, you are not allowed to own large or small constrictors in dallas.
