Housing torts

bunke10 Oct 07, 2005 01:23 PM

I have a very healthy 5 month old RFT who is housed in a very large enclosure. I am looking to adding another hatchling or juvenille(RF or YF)to my collection and wanted to house them together. Is this ok if they are the same relative size?

Also how long is quarrentine time for torts? I am just worried that my healthy baby might get sick from a new buddy. Thanks for any input!

You should only house RFT with RFT. Dont mix species. The quarantine time should be at least 6 months, longer if you buy from a pet store because almost all of those animals have parasites. If you by from a breeder, 6 months should be sufficient, but take your new tort to the vet!
