Where to buy 25 watt round red/black bulbs

Malays Oct 07, 2005 05:59 PM

Hi
Looking to buy 25 watt red or black type bulbs the regular round bulbs not the elongated type bulbs which are easy to find in that watt but the regular round bulbs havent been able to find.
Ofcourse I could use a light dimmer but rather just get the wattage I am looking for without using dimmer.
If you know where to get them please let me know.
Thanks

I think Mark at Reptronics may have the red 25W bulbs.

E-mail and ask him:

I found the bulbs in waldbaums supermarket small round 25 watt bulbs used for parties since they come in red, black, etc called party bulbs.
I agree completely with you about bulb guards however these bulbs dont run hot you can actually wrap your hand around them and they wont burn.
I had it on for 2 hours and still not hot to the touch . Perhaps they arent true 25 watt bulbs tho made by GE which is a good co.
They are for a dry enviroment no misting . A bulb guard ofcourse is a safe thing to do. Suprised these round small 25 watt bulbs arent sold in any reptile sites.

We used to use that exact product in a lab where I worked. We had to simulate a noctural environment and had to be consistent from experiment to experiment.

Every time we needed more we found them at Walgreens. I assume Walgreens is nationwide so maybe look there the next time you need them. Walmart does seem to be seasonal in carrying these.
