wd buring himself

my young wd is digging alot and today he has almost buried himself completly in the cool side of his encloser right by his water. is this normal behavior or should i be worried? he will eat alittle and he just got threw shedding. his temps are 89 77 and 82 humidity 52%. I am not sure how old he is. thanks for the help!

Waterdragons can dig out little hiding spots, but most of the time when they are digging, it's to lay eggs. The female will digs several fake holes, the one that she actually lays the eggs in will be filled in completely and you won't even know its there. I usually take a stick make a checker board pattern in the dirt so I can see were it's been disturbed. They start laying eggs as early as one year old. Generally the first clutch is just one or two eggs. White healthy looking eggs should be incubated even if the female hasn't been mated, since reproduction through parthenogenesis is remotely possible.

Ummm, I am not sure, but I think they also do some digging when they are not happy or stressed out.
