Baby veiled in sleep position

ronfinney Jul 20, 2003 05:21 PM

My little veiled just shed this morning, so he was getting a little workout. Now he is in a sleep like position pretty close to the basking area and his lights won't go off for about 4 hours. I was just wondering if this seems normal and do these colors look like stess colors? He is usually these colors in his aquarium but when i take him out he gets nice light green. Any comments would be great.

Hi-

If he is the color in the picture when he is basking that is fine, it seams they turn a dark color to absorb as much heat as they can. If he is that color all the time then he is stressed. He should be a light green color most of the time. How old is he? You will need to get him out of the aquarium and in to an all screen cage no later then 3 months of age or expect problems down the line. Hope this helps!

He seems to be this color most of the time in his aquarium. I do see him get lighter but it's never as green as when i take him out and hold him or take him outside. He is a little over a month old and i do have a large screen cage ready for him when he gets bigger.
