A first for me on the Eastern shore of VA

Jeff Schofield Oct 07, 2005 09:49 PM

In hunting the eastern shore of VA this week I found a strange "flower" in what could definately be described as a hammock.A tightly coiled, freshly born baby copperhead.Working on pics, but a nice find regardless.Anyone else ever found any coppers on the eastern shore?Jeff

I've seen them north of there in Delaware on our way south. Funny they never turn up in the pine barrens either. Just my experience.

Copperheads are found statewide in VA, with the exception of the barrier islands.
