What would make a leos color lighten up(A LOT)

deuce02 Oct 07, 2005 11:38 PM

Just wondering what would make my female lighten up so much. The first pic is her about a month ago. The second pick will be her now. Shes been eating like normal, her environment hasnt changed at all. Just a LOT lighter now. All of her tangerine is gone.

This happens to my females durring breeding season. It takes alot of nutrients to make the eggs. She could also be ready to shed. The only other thing I can think of is to check her cage temps.

I've had the same thing happen with one of my girls. When she was about 4 months old she was a gorgeous tang but now at about 6 months old she's really light, like you said almost white. I haven't bred her or anything and her temps are EXACTLY the same as they've been her whole life. I don't know what could cause that, as I'm still trying to experiment and see if there's anything I did different to cause my lil hatchling to lose her color. I've had some breeders actually get more tang after they breed and maybe this is just the opposite.
