CAGE SETUP HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RaverTanker Oct 08, 2005 12:16 AM

Okay, I am buying a new tank. It is 4 ft. long X 2 ft. wide x 2.5 ft. high. I was told by a fellow enthisiast that the eco-earth expanding coconut bark was what was making him sneeze cause it is too fine and soil like and was getting stuck in his sinuses. So he said the best setup was a full water bottom with a filter and with only a little bit of land, maybe a litterbox filled with forest bark or cypress mulch places inside the water or perhaps a bunch of aquarium gravel stuffed onto one side. Do you guys think this is best? The thing is that the cage I am getting is an 800 dollar curved front aquarium on sale for 200 because it has a small crack in one of the sides and it can't hold water. Then I was thinking maybe siliconing a piece of plastic in the middle and have one half water and the other half land. What do you guys think would be best. He is 4 ft. long keep in mind. Also, whats the best temp and humidity for these guys. Should I change temp throughout the day or keep it steady. I live in colorado and the winter is rapidly approaching. Any help you guys can offer would be greatly appreciated.

I use eco earth and ive never had a problem with it....I'd go to Nerd's web site and use there care sheet on condas. Make Sure Your Humidity Level Is Correct. Good Luck
