need help on obesity

fellow Oct 08, 2005 06:26 AM

hi, abt a year ago i posted a few pic of my obese turtles, seeking help. since then i have not fed them any prawn or food containing protein but cumcumber and lettuce. now, it seems like they still look the same.. they are about 2yrs old. both female, one is 4inch long and the other is 3inch long. they are relatively inactive, seem to sleep all the time, only swimming when they are ppl around (hoping to get food, i think). so what's wrong, what else must i do to help them? i'm really at a loss.. thanks in advance for any advice offered..

Im not to well versed on turtle diets, but i do know that sometiems its tough to tell if turtles weights have changed.

Are you tracking their weights on a scale? If not, i would recomending getting a good digital scale and using it to track the weight, they may have lost and you just havent noticed.

If you arent feeding protein, and are feeding good healthy veggies, then they shouldn't be overweight
