I have recently heard some good reviews of Picasa. It is available free from Google (picasa.google.com). I havent' used it, but it looks alright for a simple image organizer/editor.

Picasa is good for organization.. but it has a very minimum amount of editing tools.. (on a side note, if your looking for organization/storage type stuff, I much prefer irfan viewer, also free.. http://www.irfanview.com/). Irfan has a limited number of editing options as well..

I know there are alot of open source photo editors out there. I unfortunately have never used any of them.

I do have several copies of Photoshop Elements though (got a copy with each of several Canon cameras..) I have not used it, nor will I (Have full blown PS). Contact me if your interested in it. I will let you have it for shipping cost. It is a factory issue cd not an burn/bootleg there is no book or anything, Canon does not include it w/ the cameras.. but it is very similar to using the full blown PS and there are lots of aftermarket books on it.. The installation instructions are in the camera manual, I will copy this information for you..
