My 5-year-old Green Tree Python is currenly in shed, however she started twitching when I sprayed her this morning. She's never done that before. So I put my hand near the ceramic heat emitter and that's when I realized there's no heat!!
After looking underneath I just realized that the eletrical cord to the emitter was unplugged from the ESU thermostat. The stupid Kritterz plastic thermometer has been showing 83 for the longtest! I guess it's time to invest in an eletrical one because it obviously is stuck on 83 degrees.
Should I be concerned? She's alive and has been out of the opaque color for about 5 days, which is way overdue based on her past shedding cycles. I noticed she roamed a bit around her cage (wood) last night, but didn't shed. I have no idea how long she was w/out heat. Her last meal was on 9/23 and her the mid point of her body still looks enlarged. Damn this sucks!
Thanks in advance for your comments... I posted this in the GTP forum also.
