my baby dragon isnt looking good today ...Her head tilts every so often to the side and its like she equliberium is off any ideas what i can do?
How old? How long have you had her? Has she been eating okay? What are you feeding her? Can you contact the breeder? What supplements and lights do you have her under and what temperatures? any other symptoms? Has she fallen or been dropped?
ive had her for about 6 weeks ...She eats good...i have a 8.0 light tube..also a 100 watt heat light..they are feed greens every other day and are misted 3 times a day and soaked once a week ..id rather not name the breeded..but has been very help full and would purchase from the breeded again...
a little more, since you have had her six weeks, you can pretty much rule out that it is something viral... I am assuming that this is the only dragon you have?
Have you been supplementing her with calcium with D3 and low or no phosphorous?
What your describing is usually related to neuro or motor skills, neuromuscular function can be affected if they are low on calcium and unless you have been supplementing her real regular with a good supplement. It can be viral, bacterial or diet related. 4-6 weeks is about the time a problem would start showing up if she has not have good supplements. I am not saying this is what is going on with her, just a possiblity if she has not been supplemented with calcium /w D3.
If she has not been, you can try upping the calcium or starting it, but I would take her to a vet, she probably needs more attention that just dustings now. If you have been feeding a good diet and supplements, then you certainly need to take her to a vet and have her checks for other infections, ie bacterial or viral.
i do dust with calcium and also miner all in door..also i have 3 other dragons and the are fine..she was kept on sifted play sand ( they all have ) also together in one cage ..she is the smallest so just over the weekend i put them into individual cages...Thanks for all you help ..i have batril in liquid form...( most vets in my are dont know much about reptiles (actually lost a green tree due to the medication that was given Ivomectin..thanks again any more help would be great..kevin
with the calcium (with D3), she's been taking it in and her diet is good, and you have UVB light... then I would suspect that she has something either bacterial or injury related.
You have not added any new dragons to the tank in the last 2 weeks?
You changed cages this weekend? The one she went in, did you clean it with anything and make sure there was no reside from cleaning, like bleach smell or ammonia?
If not rinsed really well, the heat from the lamps can create a toxic gas that can affect the neurologically.
