Need a Reptile Reccomendation Please

doobwaa Oct 08, 2005 01:43 PM

My son really wants to add a reptile to our 75 gal. Paludarium.

If is 2/3 water and 1/3 land area, with the water being about 10" deep. The water is filtered thru a cannister and comes back into the tank from the base of a small tree trunk.

We have both live plants above and below the waterline, and enough branches to create plenty of climbable space.

The humidity is around 80% right now but can be controlled with a mister for the most part.

The temp is mid 70s for both water and air inside.

There are 2 fire belly toads in now that will be relocated, and some small guppies.

Maybe this is too damp for a reptile but figured id ask.... any thoughts on what type (if any) would like this set-up?

Or are we gonna have to stick with amphibians...my son wants a lizard or snake but the wife doesnt want another tank....

any help would be appreciated! thanks

I suggest you look into water dragons. The guppies could stay.

The "reptile room" is actually, just my basement. Which happens to also be my bedroom...

The crickets are 1/4" so they don't creak.

I find a dead one every once and a while... so they must starve.

ALTHOUGH... I was just bitten on the toe by one RIGHT NOW... vicious buggers when they are hungry.
