Baytril and deworming methods

Has anyone else had a bad experience using baytril on a tortoise?I took my yellow foot to the vet for a respiratory infection, the vet was not very familiar with reptiles and gave her an injection of baytril. The tortoise immediately went limp and had to be given cortizone. She came around and we took her home. Two weeks later she died after seeming to recover.

Also how does one get dewormer into a tortoise? I can't get them to open their mouths without retreating into their shells. I

As far as the worming goes, I use the paste, and put it into a hollowed out green bean.

I use hibiscus flowers.
