Keep the temperature about 75-82 degrees. They eat spiders.

Moddy,

First of all there are several species of hooknosed snakes. There are the Mexican Hooknosed (Ficimia streckeri), the Desert Hooknose (Gyalopion canum) and the colorful Thornscrub Hooknose (G. quadrangulare). There are also two Mexican species (Ficimia olivacea and Pseudoficimia sp.).

First you should try to identify your snake. Then you should do some research about its habitat and food preferences.

I believe most of the Hook-nosed snakes are spider and scorpion eaters in the wild, but I know people who have kept them on crickets and I even know someone who had one that ate pinkies.

Buying a snake like this a quite a risk, unless you are an experienced snake keeper.

mine is a western hooknose, i purchased it on 10/8/05
ive tried centipedes, and a spider, im going to let it rest for 4-6 days as it is very stressed and needs to acclimate. right now i have a cloth over the tank so very little light comes in, it is still warm. im looking for scorpion breeders so i may be able to purchase scorps in the next few weeks. any care would be great

thanx moddy.
