B&w's all captive bred?

groundskeeper24 Oct 08, 2005 06:32 PM

I was wondering if all merinae in the US are captive bred. I thought I read somewhere that they cannot be inported from Argentina. I suppose if there were populations in neighboring countries, then maybe nations with less strict import laws might allow it. I'm likely to be buying a hatchling shortly, and wanted to know how much I really needed to worry about ending up with a wc baby.
Thanks.

No all of the babies for sale are not all captive bred .
Yes Argentina hasn't exported any live tegus in a long time but Paraguay has let both black and whites and red into the country.
There were a lot of baby black and white and red tegu imported into the US this year.
The only way you can be sure to get one that is captive bred is to buy breeder direct .

If you want a captive bred Argentine black and white tegu contact Bert at Agama

(I am not sold our of both regular Argentine black and whites and reds and we are not longer going to be producing either species except for color morphs of the Argentine)
