Never seen one with that high of a band count in THAT area before, unless it's from WAYYY north or way west of Tallahassee or near the mountains or even in the Northeast. But it could have Brooksi influence of course. . . All of the many kings I found in the wild in S.GA and N. Fl. usually have a band count of 25 or less, with MOST having around 20 bands. Just my experience (I used to live in S.GA. for many years)
But that's a very nice looking animal! Keep posting pics of it as it grows. Thanks for sharing! Please post pics of the others too.
Here's a pic of one with a high band count (It's a Pinellas county E. King that I got from Len Krysko) This one does have brooksi influence from ancient times (it resembles a brooksi minus the light areas between the crossbands), even though it's classified by Krysko as the most southern race of the eastern king. This snake is now 3 foot and still has and always will have dark interapaces. This in turn classifies it as an Eastern.

Thats what I thought. But the seller said his friend caught a gravid Eastern on his acreage north of Talahassee and it laid eggs and was released. I have 2 others with high band count and will post better photos later.

Hey Norm nice score ! I agree with Zee that band count is too high. I follow the classifieds pretty faithfully and did you get those from a place (in Florida) selling the group or them alone for 35 each ? If so I also remember another guy trying like hell to sell a bunch of Easterns that are dead ringers for that one. When I emailed him about locale he told me they were from NJ animals. I woulda purchased them but he didnt didnt answer my reply email with the info I wanted. So there is a possibility that you got yourself some Jerseys ! Regardless very pretty King. Looking forward to some more pics. Also I took some pics of the NJ female I have and Ill get them posted here tonight or tomorrow.

I bought them for the high band count, not the locale, so I will not be disappointed one way or the other. Of course if they truly are from somewhere near Leon Co. that definitely would be unusual. I will quiz the seller again but he seemed very sure of the locale.
