Yes, this is a rotten picture, but I took it with my phone's camera. Too lazy to go get my digital camera.
One more was waiting for me tonight when I looked in on them. This one was pipping, so I removed him from the container.
Despite my own best efforts to sabotage this clutch, they seem to be doing well. Like I said before, I incubated with sand. One of the babies had a grain of sand stuck in his eye and couldn't remove it. I tried washing it several time to know avail.
Finally, I used the BLUNT end of a sewing needle and the shaft to 'roll' the grain of sand out of his eye. I pressed the shaft against his eyelid starting at the edge, working my way to the center. I got REALLY lucky and it finally popped out.
We'll see how this one does, but again- sand is a BAD choice for a medium for incubating eggs!
