Opinions of People familiar with Stripes....

Lucien Oct 09, 2005 05:38 AM

I got this little girl from littleappleherp.com as a Jungle albino... but I'll be damned if she doesn't appear to be a full stripe. Paid $65 shipped for her which I thought was a rather good price considering... and she's gonna have pretty babies when she gets older but I wanted to know what everyone thought. Could she really be a stripe or is it more likely she's just a jungle who's pattern came out like that?

Sorry about the blurriness of that last photo she was on the move on me *L* I had to snap the pic quick and catch her before she wandered off the end of my bed...Antway, Just looking for opinions..She's a good addition to my breeding stock regardless of what she really is..

Thanks

Shes a jungle. Jungles have all broken bands all down its tail like yours does, but a stripe has one continuing line, its not broken like yours is at the base of its tail.

If you will notice the bands are broken with one straight stripe down. However they have a stripe in the middle of darker color. It's unique, I've seen it a few times before, but that animal is definately a stripe.

However I don't subscribe to the "Chocolate Albino" title. It's a dark albino. People seem to come up with their own names to market an animal. It's a beautiful animal, I wouldn't think twice about having it in my own collection. Of course I'm a Tremper Albino-a-holic.

It's a chocolate albino bold striped leo.The blotch between the back legs is very very common in stripey's though they are perfered not to have that blotch so that they have a clean stripe right the way though but it is still 100% a striped .
Do some google serfing yo'll find a lot of leo's that look a lot like yours and they are called stripe leo's .

I agree that it's a stripe. It's VERY common to have that spot between the hind legs. What most people are looking for in a stripe are the following:

-Broken neck band
-2 parallel unbroken markings on the side. The straighter the better.
-2 parallel unbroken markings on the tail. The straighter the better as well.

The bold portion of the markings is linebreed, and is what would allow you to continue to see the stripe as an adult. Here's a new girl I just picked up.
