Branch?

lilbitlizz Jul 20, 2003 06:56 PM

My bci, Sandy, seems to love to climb, but the only climbing she really gets is when she's on me. I've been trying to find a nice sized branch to add to her home to give the old gal some exercise...the only t hings I can fnd are the dinky little "vines" at pet stores that my gal would snap in two. If I found a branch off our pecan tree in the back yard, what preps would I need to take before it was safe for Sandy?

baking it should dry it out well enough to use.

you kill anything that is living in the wood. Soak it in the bleach solution for a while and then soak it in clean water a little longer to try to get the remaining bleach out of the wood. Throw it out in the brutal arkansas sun for a day (I know...neighbor) then I would bake it for about an hour.
