Here are some herps I have seen in Kentucky this year. No offense to any of you guys but I know some people on here have trouble finding things, well I am only 15 and look what I found!

I'll start with the begining of the year when I was only 14. 35 minutes into the new year me and my buddy Joey found this guy hopping across his frozen over pond.

Here's the pond a few days before.

A two-lined sal.

An american toad calling in a roadside rut.

Me and Joey did alot of road cruising even though we are only 15. But see here in the bluegrass you're old enough to drive if you can see over the wheel.
A southern leopard.

An american toad.

Another american toad.

Here's some pics from the KHS field trip on March 13.
A patternless spotted salamander.

More spotties.

A black king from Jefferson County in early may.

What do ya know another toad.

A peeper.

A copes gray tf.

Another

A cool thamnophis!

A green frog.

Joey with a good sized intergrade milk from Hardin county

A ringneck from Bullitt county

A black racer from Jefferson county

Mud sal larvae

a blanchards cricket frog

A longtail salamander from the KHS canoe trip.

A heiroglyph river cooter nesting from livingston county

Me with an earth snake from Jefferson county

A common map from the KHS canoe trip.

A midland painted turtle from the KHS canoe trip.

Edge habitat is a very productive place to look.

That is where this black king was found. Adair county.

Double the trouble.

Me and Joey with a racer and black king.

a couple nerodia from Adair county.

A red spotted newt.

A cool box turtle

Another ringneck

A marbled sal.

This place looks interesting.

One more time for Jason!

Thanks for sharing...mud sallies are cool!
...and you can catch some nice bass with them if you can get them to stay on the hook.

Just kidding....neat stuff.

Looks like you know how to herp, but keep in mind it's a bit easier in KY than it is here in Hamilton cty OH where 3/4 of the county is developed!

Clay,

Why don't you fry up those mud sallies and have a little snack. You need some meat on those bones boy!

I wish I had started herping when I was your age... I used to catch blue spotted sallies and tigers up in the woods behind my house in Michigan, but I never got into it until college.

Keep it up, I am looking forward to what you guys turn up next year.
