"Marketed" Leucistics are Patternless leos
True Leucistics are Blizzard leos

PR1090 Oct 09, 2005 09:21 PM

What i also wanted to know is, how is that leucistic/paternless? All the ones i see are a duller yellow. They said it was a leucistic but im going to ask if it is mixed with a blizzard or somthing. Thanks for the help moon

It could be digitaly enhanced, ive never seen anything like it on the internet but it would probably go for hundereds if it did exist. Im going to email them again, but they dont breed leos much but i know they bred high yellows so it could be some cross of that.

They got the patternless that yellow by line breeding only breeding there best to there best ect.The same way as you get you hi-yellows,hypo,super hypo's ect.It is a pure patterless and the best patternless i've ever seen there no blizzard in that leo .You can how ever get what called a (banana blizzard) from breeding a patternless to a blizzard then you get normal double het for patternless & blizzard breed the babys back to each other you will have a 1/16 chance of a banana blizzard-they have a white head/yellow body/white tail.

(patternless X blizzard)= (normal het patt & bliz)then
(normal het patt & bliz)X(normal het patt & bliz)=all types of babys like blizzard, patternless, normal, and a 1 in 16 chance of a banana blizzard.

Why are paternless so expensive? I got an 8 month old for 25 dollars that in dark is almost as bright as that one, and in light is almost as dull as a blizzard midnight. What is a banana blizzard worth? Thanks
Paul

The only Banana Patternless I've ever seen are line bred...

crestedgecko.com sells them

I have never seen a patternless that bright in person before. My patternless pumpkin is yellow, but it is not so bright. I got him a year ago, for about thirty dollars at a reptile expo. I have seen them priced a lot more though.

"Leucistic" is a misnomer for a patternless gecko that just won't die. That particular gecko had no blizzard in it from what I can see, but I think it might be albino (can't see it at the moment to check). They also SERIOUSLY messed with the saturation of the color. I can tell you that gecko is not that neon yellow. I have a patternless albino that many in other forums consider to be a top example of the morph - see below. By having something to compare her to, you get a much better sense of what the real coloration is.

The price will vary depending on several things...

-age?
-intensity of coloration?
-albino?
-carrottail?
-kinked tail? (BAD!)
-is the breeder trying to move the geckos out fast?

I've seen patternless albinos ranging from $40 - $200.

A real "Banana Blizzard" is actually a cross between a patternless and a blizzard. Those are very rare. Most of what you see marketed as a banana blizzard are regular blizzards that have been line breed to have yellow coloration.

I asked and they said its their "best of the best" and they got doog lighting, they said no copmuter editing ot anything of the sort

Kendergirl Oct 16, 2005 06:54 PM

Then they are lying to you, or their camera is out of wack and they don't know it. I'm sure it's a very nice patternless in person, but I would put any amount of money down on the fact that it's not that neon yellow - and I don't like betting if I think I might lose! To show you what I mean, I took their picture and turned down the saturation to a more natural level. That was the only thing I did. Their picture is on top, what I would expect to see in real life is on the bottom (and I was even a bit generous there!). It is still a very nice patternless, about as good as they come, but they were misrepresenting it none the less.
