Best methods to remove poop smell from carpet?!?

xxcolbyxx Oct 09, 2005 11:35 PM

I let my burm explore my house for a little bit, and he decided while on the carpet, was a perfect time to do his business =| I managed to remove the solids, but the pee is still lingering on in the carpet, and my dad's industrial strength stain remover helped only a little. Any tips on removing that horrible pee smell from the carpets? Ironically, hardwood floors was only 3 inches away from where he was >_<

This totally ruined my confidence of letting my burm venture too much inside my house now. When would be a "good" time to let a burm crawl around you house?

Rent a good carpet cleaner...that might help.

Any commercially available carpet cleaner would work. I'm talking about the aerosols, or pump sprays you can buy pretty much amywhere.
There are foams, and some are specifically for pet odors.Namely urine.
Just follow the directions on the bottle, or can.
I breed dogs, so with pups around, you become an expert at removing stink from carpets.

I let my burm roan all the time, mostly outside but thats cause of the dogs. When she is inside(the dogs lockd up) and she has an accident, I use a steam cleaner.

We just got a "Scunci steamer" from hell-mart for like $50, it works great on her little accidents(of coures a 12' burm does not heve LITTLE accidents, lol) it's just a little hand help thing, not a carpet steamer, but it works on every thing. Sorry, I'll stop there this is not a commercial.

But don't let this ruin you letting your burm roam, it realy is easy to clean up.

Don't let this go to an "ad" but Urine Gone from TV works pretty well for me. Use your own "blacklight" however!!
