albino florida kings

lilgemsmice Oct 09, 2005 11:48 PM

are there true (pure) albino florida kingsnakes now? I know that albino california kings were bred with florida kings to produce albino fl king hybrids (aka "lemon kings",) but has a pure albino fl king been discovered since this has been done? I am wondering because I have seen ads for albino florida kings with no mention of "hybrid." I was wondering if these were legit or just another case of misrepresentation.....

Hi charlene
Albino florida's have been found in the wild and have popped up from wild colllected het for the gene adults, intergrades or not they are about.. when i say intergrade that doesnt mean hybrid as to many people think, ie goini, holbrooki, banks, ect,ect all intergrade and are close relatives..

thanks. I couldn't find anything from searches. I am curious how many years apart the "lemon king" creation and the discovery of albino florida kings ocurred? interesting stuff.
