Just got this 1000 gramer for free. I friend of my sons didn't want her anymore. Got cage an all. Now if my probing is correct its a female. I probed her in about 3 scales deep. That was as far as it would got without any force, on both sides. Does that make it a female? What do you all think about it?

balls are one of the hardest snakes to probe if you ask me. Males tend to not let you in at all, or if they do, very little. If the spurs and tail look right, it doesn't pop, and it won't probe deep, only then will I consider it female. I've probed hundreds of colubrids with no problem but for someone "with experience", I can't probe balls for anything.

I'd suggest getting someone really familiar with balls to try and probe, just to be sure.

Oh, and also, I think female balls usually probe around 4-6 scales(maybe I'm wrong), which is why I'm saying make sure, because you only got 3.
