Today is Thanksgiving in Canada, just wanted to wish all our Northern neighbors good wishes and all, eh?

Thanks! Glad to know there is some less confused Americans about what the proper date of Thanksgiving is...
Now you have to read the rest of this like a Dr. Suesse Story book...
Thanks giving in canada means one of the biggest meals of the year! 30 Kilo Turkeys slow cooked and oven roasted for an entire day. Succulent Canadian Back bacon... Golden mashed potatoes with gravey, freash corn and hot dinner rolls. When dinner is done, you unbutton your jeans, lean back and dig into dessert. More type of pies than there are prongs on forks, ice crean, cookies, brownies and more whip cream that your entire years supply of shaving foam!
What a day! I'm still digesting the food as we speak!
This weekend the leaves finally changed colour... time to get the camera out. Red, yellows, browns, tans, deep reds and hot pinks. Fall has arrived and the snow is comming.

Yesterday was the FIRST day of the year that I could turn off the A/C and open the window at night to let in some fresh cool night air.Woo hooooooo!
I drove in to work with the A/C off and the windows rolled down in my car. I left my chameleons out all day and all night (except the babies of course).
I MADE HOT SOUP!!!!!
Oh you crazy Canadians, with your crazy dates. Thanksgiving has no real business residing in October. I mean, everyone knows October is for OKTOBERFEST!!! Bring on the lederhosen, the sausage, the beer, and the Chicken Dance!
But 30 kilo Turkeys and Canadian Bacon??? Hrmmm....
Bring on Canadian Thanksgiving!

Your wonldn't even think about the date if you only had a chance to try a thanksgiving meal... I hope there is still lemon pie at home when I leave work... I'm not particular for pumpkin.
I agree with you on the windows at night... Its so nice to have a cool room, but still sleep cozily under warm covers.

Hey,
I'm a fellow Canadian and couldn't agree more with you about the food thing (we totally pigged out as well). Thanksgiving really does mean eating a ton of food!
Willhayward, I was wondering what kind of plant your cham is sitting on (great pic, by the way)? It looks...uh...I'm trying to find a delicate way to say this... it looks like it could be toxic for a cham and (possibly) "fun" for a human. Please tell me it's not real!
Meemee
PS Thanks for the good wishes Victor and Lele!
>>Hey,
>>
That plant is obviously a silk plant modeled after a Japapese Maple!
I do have a funny story to share about this sort of mix up though....
When I lived in San Diego and still had my bonsai business, I would sometimes grow various plants and trees on my little plot where I used to have my chicken coop. Well, one day I noticed this little Japanese maple growing where I had not planted one. Well, no matter. I cultivated it, giving it LOTS of sunshine, water, and fertilizer. It grew like a WEED!
Ahem. Turns out this was NOT a Japanese Maple! I'm not sure how its seed got into my little plot, but could be that it was from a hemp seed from my chicken's feed.

Its fake. And its actually called 'Abutilon', its not a fake hemp plant.

Sounds just like USA T-day! What is the origin of Canada's Thanksgiving? Funny, I just got an email from a friend in PEI whose dryer was broken and he was complaining b/c of holiday he could not get a repair person. Because of Victor's sensitivity to Canadians (lol!!!) I knew what he was talking about! OK, I really did know you guys have a T-Day, but I have always wondered about Boxing Day???? :-/

I know I know!!!
It's to celebrate all those wonderful boxers. No not prize fighters, I mean those wonderful people in the box making business!!!
hehehehe
No. I think 'Boxing Day' is somewhat close to our own trick or treat tradition, where people would go door to door and collect spare change.
Being that this is not a Holiday that I celebrate, I'm not entirely clear on this, so I might be entirely off.
>>Sounds just like USA T-day!
Wait a sec... you get 30 KILO turkeys and Canadian Bacon up in the Northeast????
Darnit, I gotta head north!
Oh Lele, I got the roaches today, thnx!
