interesting, ive had a.javanicus in the past and they both escaped their 100g. tank in my living room and ended up in my bedroom roughly 50ft. away! so they do escape and suprisingly they can crawl some distance on dry land. it doesnt suprise me to see them dry themselves out in a natural habitat.i know when i get some again i will have both a dryland area as well as pond for them with lots of hides. im convinced the white patches are fungus and it is attributed to being kept in water only,that with immune suppression due to stress ,overcomes the animal. kinda like blister disease does in colubrids it just dominoes,,,,,,,,,
