Does anyone here allow the female to incubate their eggs?

Is this possible indoors or is the temperature too hard to keep right? If so what are the benifits and drawbacks? Thanks

I did and quite frankly found it to be a piece of cake. I set her tub on it's own thermostat (89*), made sure the humidity was kept high and that was all - all eight eggs hatched without a hitch - mom went back to pounding rats (if I remember correctly) the day after I pulled the last hatchling. Haven't tried using the incubator yet so can't tell you how it compares.

Thanks for the link. I'm still not sure what I will do but I still have some time to think about it

I tried it once, and the eggs dented after about 5 days, so I chickened out and put them in an incubator. All of them hatched. I supose if I had the humidity higher...

Thats so funny - a lot of people told me they wre to chicken to try maternal incubation - for me it was the other way around - I had more faith in the mom than me and an incubator. Seriously thinking I'll do it again with all my clutches this year! We'll see
