is it true that rat snakes have tempeperments?

ive heard this but im not sure if its a myth or not, because cornsnakes are the most docile species i know of and they are a rat snake

...Only one of mine was. Most, with proper handling, can become just about as docile as corns as they mature. All of mine are very easily handled, and even my texas rat, who was a biter when he was a baby, is very calm for me now. I only have North American Ratsnakes, so can't really speak with experience on the ones from other countries. Duffy

I hear this all the time. By temperment, I am assuming you are thinking agressive biters that never become tame. I have 10 types of American Rat Snakes, and none of mine have temperments. Yes, some can be biters, but I think that most CB American Rat Snakes are not.

"cornsnakes are the most docile species i know of and they are a rat snake" Yes, Corn Snakes are rat snakes and most are docile. I have a docile one myself, but I also have a young male Gray that makes the Corn Snake seem wild. There are exceptions to every rule.
