are sheds soppose to SMELL so bad?

my feamle just got done shedding. her mites are all gone and from what i was told the stress would cause her to shed. she did and her shed smells!. it could have been in the cage from a fullday to just 5 minutes ago and boy does it smell! her last one didnt. could there be something wrong with her like an illness?

I would not worry at this time, normally sheds don't smell unless soiled. But, you're dealing with an animal that had mites and has been treated for them. As you indicated, the stress triggered an early shed, may even be affected by the chemicals used to get rid of the mites. Watch the snake and look for any obvious signs of illness. loose stool, mucous, skin irritation etc.
