thekidgecko Oct 10, 2005 08:51 PM

Caught my first hot today! Southern Copperhead. Juvi. Still Had yellow on its tail and he/she tried to kill my tongs. It was wuite amusing. If anyone else wants to tell about their first hot capture, do tell. No doubt they are pretty interesting. Lol

Any time you catch a snake it will be just as exciting. I hope you let the critter go free..

If you give somebody a match and they can keep warm for a while.
If you light them on fire, They will be warm for the rest of their life.

Yes I did let the little guy go. I can't keep venomous and it was in a very old patch of woods. I even found an Plains Ratsnake, which have become quite rare lately. I even let that go, though if it was a more common species like a Texas Rat I might have kept it. The copper was really the highlight though. Great find and fun to catch.
