Baby S. Ringneck biting

candb Oct 10, 2005 08:54 PM

I found a baby southern ringneck today in my girlfriends pool. Im not asking for care advise i know all of that, i am asking if anyone has ever had a s. ringneck especially a baby try to bite? When i picked it up it opened its mouth to try to bite me numerous times. Has anyone else ever experienced this because i havent before with them

Oh yeah those southern ringneck snakes will put up a fight. Most of the ones I've had would not put up any fuss, but others would musk and attempt to bite. None of them ever had though, they just don't open their mouths wide enough. Nor do any of them have a mouse wide enough to fit on my finger lol.
