My new leos

sardoniccheese Oct 11, 2005 04:18 PM

Hey I just got 5 leos 1.3.1 The male is a htct and the females are just hypo tangerines. The baby (housed separatly) is a patternless. I was just looking for reccomendations on substrate. And is a hovabator going to be big enough for my 3 girls. Please just throw random facts at me from your point of view and what you do with your leos. I am housing the 4 adults in a 20 long (I am looking for a rack system). Oh yeah if you know a good place(cheap preferably) where I can get a rack system let me know.

I use slate floor tile in my tank. The 12"x12" floor tile fits side to side in my tank and then you need the 3rd tile cut to fit the rest of the way. Get it at a home improvement store.

Are you fitting those into a 20 long?

Hi, um three leos in a twenty gallon long is a little cramped. This is just my opinion, but I had problems with having three in a tank twice that size. About the substrate, I use paper towels. They are cheap, but not everyone likes them because they look, well, they look like paper towels. A lot of people have tile, which I also am planning on changing to. You will have to measure your tank, and thenfigure out tile size and everything. You may want to post and ask if anyone else has tile in a twenty gallon long to get some ideas of what you will need. Hope this helps.
