When quarantining a new snake, what exactly should I do? Is it ok to have the snakes in the same room? What precautions should I take? I just don't want my snake catching anything from the new one. Thankyou for your answers

What I do is. I keep the new boa in a seperate room. I place it in a plastic cage and use paper towels as the substrate. If I have been handling the new snake I never handle my current collection until I shower and I place my clothes in the wash. After the snake sheds and I have not found a mite and I have seen a healthy bowell movement and see no signs of illness I relax. This usually lasts about a month. I hope this helps.
Yeah, I quarantine in a separate room as well, just for safety sake. I make sure they're eating, shedding, and pooping normally, and look for mites. My new snakes get sprayed with Reptile Releif right out of the box, and into a pillowcase and placed in their new cage overnight. The next day I inspect the pillowcase with a magnifying glass, and low powered microscope. I use aspen in my snake room, but newspapers only for the quarantine time which is about 2 months for me.

I like the split saddles. Andy
Thanks Andy, he is a 18 month old 100% het albino. He's a sibling to some sunglows. He was produced by Rich Ihle and is a pleasure to own.
