I have recently taken in a New Guinea Water Python. This is one of the strangest snakes I have ever dealt with. She will not bite her prey!! She will only constrict it. I have to hold the mice ( they are actually too small for her, but I am afriad to give her anything bigger) in the tongs and wait until she wraps them to kill them. She will only take live prey. I have tried fresh killed & frozen, & she would not take it. Has anyone else out there had this same problem? I have checked her mouth & there doesnt seem to be any signs of mouth rot.
