tadpoles

jbarry Oct 12, 2005 08:20 AM

I have several tadpoles in a 10 gallon tank for about 2 months now. The are doing well. They started to grow legs, but then nothing else happened. I think they are bullfrogs. They are from a pond in Illinois. They are about 2 inches long, olive green in color with some spots. Please help me identify what kind of frogs these will be and I would appreciate any information on how long it can take for them to change into frogs. They have been kept indoors where the nights are kept warm.

some tadpoles take up to 2 years to metamorphose. they sound liek bullfrog. those to take a while to change and may overwinter with just the back legs. i have had leopard frog tadpoles that size so it could be those too, they change faster.
