My dragon is 4 years old now, and he's been through a lot (lots of parasites and such), and even though he is parasite free now, he acts like he's still infected. He doesn't eat anything really...maybe once every few days, just lays there. He only poops like once every 2-3 weeks.
I think a major problem is in his diet. That's the only thing I can see with how I've got him setup that just isn't working well. He's always been very picky and never really liked veggies. Soon he began to complete refuse them, so I started feeding him repcal pellets to try to get something into him that was good for him (or so I thought), and then he stopped eating crickets. I think the diet of just repcal pellets is doing two things to him right now. One, the food is probably deficient in some aspects of nutrition. Two, a bearded dragon isn't designed to digest that much grain... the lack of fiber is probably constipating him all of the time, and a constipated lizard doesn't really want to eat anything.
The only thing I could come up with to try to finally get him on track (well, my vet suggested it too, as he's seen it work in similar situations). Everyday I am feeding him 1 or 2 large pieces of greens. It's kind of force feeding, but not really forcefully. I do the old trick of rolling a toothpick over the front of his mouth to get him to open up and bite down on it a little (careful that he doesn't bite hard enough to actually eat a piece of toothpick! That would not be good!). Then I insert part of the large piece of greens into the front of his mouth and pull the tooth pick out the side, and you get basically the woodchipper affect, and soon almost all of the piece of greens is gone.
I'm pretty much running out of ideas. Nothing seems to work, so I'm going to see if maybe this will at least help to solve his problems. I've also been trying to get him to eat some crickets, but he seems uninterested in them too.
