I Have just decided to change some of my adult BRB setups.
This is only an experiment.
I've started to house a couple of my adults in 4' x 2' visions with dry perforated cage liners as substrate, an upside down plastic kitty litter box with a hole cut in it for a dry hide box, a large water dish (same kitty litter box upright without hole), and a 12 - 15 quart rubermaid clear storage container with a hole in the lid and about 1/4" - 1/2" of water in it
for increased hummidity ( no moss / no substrate ).
I've noticed that my brb's like to spend about half their time in the wet hide box and the other half in the dry hide box. The good thing is that they seem to like the variations in hummidity inside their enclosures. I also don't get any mold and they always seem to defficate in the water dish or in the hummid box. I've also noticed perfect sheds everytime.
All my other adults are on cypress mulch, with the same large water dishes and dry hide boxes. The only problem i have with the mulch is that it tends to attract little white flies and some mold. And i'm also affraid that one of the animals may ingest a piece of the bark at feeding time.
Any opinions????
