Length or Weight?

rfarris Oct 13, 2005 04:57 PM

Which would you purchase if the cost is the same on both?

Female Ball: 37 inches and 1360 grams (thick but has burns)

Female Ball: 40 inches and 1050 grams

Soo...ones longer, but weighs 300 grams less than the other. I'm thinking of going with the 1360 gram female, but I thought I'd ask what other people would do, first.

Thanks.

I would not make the purchase based on weight alone. The difference is too small. I'd go with the healthy, feeding animal first. If they are both healthy and feeding, then the smaller one can easily make up the weight. I'd go with the one I like then.

From what I hear, both of them are pounding everything he gives them. I'm told they're both docile and are as healthy as can be.

He also said that the lengths were estimates. There could only be a 1-2 inch difference (if that matters) and I guess that could set one apart.

Hmm...decisions...

Thanks again.

Assuming they are both captive born - do you happen to know the age of them and their feeding pattern? That would make a big difference for me. If you plan on breeding right away - the heavier one would be the obvious choice as the lighter one may not be up to size for breeding this season - but the heavier one may be too young to breed.

He says he wasn't the original owner of any of these. He assumes they are CB because they are such good eaters.

Thanks Tosha.

Oh yeah, I just sent you an email.

go for the fat one. If they are both pounding the food and one os fatter, go for it. What if the other has worms or goes off feed more often? Who knows. I would pick the heavy short.
